Jake Orreal

Jake Orreal (born 26 September 1989) was an Australian Rules footballer for the Sydney Swans in the Australian Football League (AFL).
Prior to being picked up by Sydney, the 205cm Orreal had played just three games of Australian rules football and had never been a registered player for a junior club. The Swans targeted Orreal by using a little-known and rarely used clause in the AFL rookie list rules to snare the athletic teenager ahead of the AFL draft. Originally from Marist College Ashgrove in Queensland, Orreal had held a scholarship to the Australian Institute of Sport in volleyball.
Orreal spent the 2008 season developing his game in the Swans' reserves where he played 16 games and scored eight goals. A mobile ruckman, Orreal is a project player who the Swans will be giving every opportunity to play AFL. Orreal signed a two-year rookie contract ahead of the 2007 AFL Draft. This was extended to a third year in 2009.
Orreal experienced further injuries in season 2010 and missed many reserves games as a result. He was delisted at the end of the season.
