Brent Colbert (pronounced Brent Col-Bert) (born November 28, 1969) is a Canadian conservative public policy advisor. Colbert served as Chief of Staff to the Mayor of the City of Ottawa from 2006-2010 Prior to that he served as a senior advisor to the Ministers of Health, Environment and Community Family and Children's Services at Queen's Park. In January 2011 Colbert announced his intention to seek the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario nomination in , but later stepped aside to allow Ottawa Citizen columnist Randall Denley to run for election. Denley lost, and Colbert instead became Campaign Manager for Jason MacDonald, the Progressive Conservative candidate in . Colbert is currently a Principal for a Tactix, a government relations and public affairs company. Views Colbert is a passionate advocate for children's issues including access to treatment for autistic children, parental choice for child care and expanding access to adoption. Colbert has appeared on several radio, television, and newspaper reports providing comment on contentious issues. Colbert spent three years as a stay-at-home father, writer and editor of Colbert Report Blog, a daily commentary on the issues of the day.
