Brandon Phillips (basketball)

Brandon Abibou Phillips (born July 3, 1998) is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Los Angeles Ballers of the Junior Basketball Association (JBA).
High school career
Phillips began playing high school basketball for Newport Harbor High School in Orange County, California. In the 2013-14 season, he was a member of the junior varsity team. He was academically ineligible to play as a junior. While being barred from the team, Phillips often played basketball at a local 24 Hour Fitness center. He returned to the varsity level as a senior under head coach Bob Torribio and made an immediate impact, scoring 17 points against Santa Maria High School. Phillips finished the season averaging 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 steals en route to first-team All-League and Defensive Player of the Year honors.
Professional career
Los Angeles Ballers (2018)
After high school, Phillips was working out to potentially play for Orange Coast College in the upcoming season.
On August 16, 2018, after the JBA season, Phillips alleged that the league only paid him one-third of what was promised. His allegations drew attention from national sports publications Bleacher Report and Yahoo Sports.
Personal life
Phillips supports the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA), and his favorite player is Stephen Curry.
