James Bradley Harold Burton (born 6 February 1973) is an English entrepreneur and motivational speaker who founded the business networking group 4Networking. He is the author of four business books. and stayed in this area throughout his childhood and school years. In 1995 someone attempted to shoot him and he moved to Somerset. Career After leaving school, Burton entered the computer games industry, eventually becoming a commentator on computer games show, Gamesmaster. In 2004, Burton started a marketing business in London, financing the company by delivering pizzas. In 2006, Burton shut down his marketing business and set up 4Networking in Taunton, Somerset, From 2009 Burton started to establish himself as the UK's No 1 motivational speaker. In January 2013 Burton was on BBC Newsnight discussing his opinion on Europe increasingly putting in legislation that ties small businesses down. In February 2016, Burton stood down as managing director of 4Networking. His replacement was childhood friend Jason Dutton. Burton also gives talks as a motivational speaker across the UK, and is an ambassador for Visit Somerset, which aims to promote Somerset as a destination for travel and business. In April 2017 Burton ran the first Now What Live event in Reading alongside a number of other speakers such as Paul Bohill, an enforcement officer from now hosting two events a year. 14 November 2019 Burton was keynote speaker at the International Xerocon conference Media Burton has been interviewed about business and entrepreneurship, with appearances on Working Lunch on BBC2, BBC Newsnight on BBC Radio 2, various appearances on London Real and articles in newspapers The Times, business websites, and local newspapers. He has also created several motivational videos and podcasts for entrepreneurial and business websites. Burton was listed by Richtopia as one of the 100 most influential British entrepreneurs. In 2015 Burton appeared as one of the backers in an episode of the TV series Money Pit on Dave. Personal life Burton lives in Taunton, Somerset with his wife Kerry and their two sons and one daughter.
