Bookselves is a digital social networking and book trading platform that enables users to physically meet, exchange books, and discuss their favorite authors, genres, and literary topics. The startup is headquartered in Berkeley, CA and was founded in July, 2015 by a team of UC Berkeley, Harvard and IIT Kanpur alumni. The app service is provided via smartphone iOS platforms. Bookselves users can create profiles and add titles of physical books that they own and wish to trade. Users can search the app’s library database for books that belong to other users. All books that appear in the search belong to users in the same city. Bookselves encourages in-person meetings and discussions between users in public locations, such as bookstores, libraries, and parks. Mission The goal of Bookselves is to “use the digital to enhance the real.” Bookselves aims to “bring like-minded readers together to help them engage in an intellectual or emotional conversation about books.” History Bookselves was founded July, 2015.<ref name="website" /> The beta version of the mobile app was launched November 17, 2015.<ref name="Rawan" />
