Bobby Moffet (c. 1967 - 27 May 2010) was a Belfast man who was killed in a shooting in the Shankill Road. He was shot by masked men in the afternoon in a busy shopping area. He was a former loyalist prisoner, who it was believed had been expelled from the Red Hand Commandos over allegations of excessive drug use and violence against women. He was also a father of six. It is widely believed that he was killed by the Ulster Volunteer Force after becoming involved in a dispute with a leader of the UVF. There was a turnout of around 2000 people at his funeral on 4 June, even though there had been a number of text messages, apparently from the UVF, warning people to stay away. This shooting raises questions of whether the UVF has fully disarmed, and led to the resignation from the PUP of Dawn Purvis.
