Blue Water Sports is an online retail outlet that sells diving, kayaking, and sports equipment. Based in the coastal town of Paignton, Devon, the company serves a market based primarily in the United Kingdom and the United States. History Founded in 2007 by Steve and Julie Mackay, the company initially offered only second hand and refurbished scuba equipment through eBay and Amazon.com stores. In the last several years the company has experienced significant growth resulting in an expansion of both their retail selection and warehouse facilities. They now sell only new products from companies like Mares, SEAC, Cressi, Osprey, and Typhoon. Adam Mackay joined Blue Water Sports in 2009 and used his IT and marketing experience to put in place the internal systems and website to provide a framework for expansion. Operations Blue Water Sports currently operates as an online retailer with a single storefront showroom. Through its use of the multichannel retailing model, the company has established a diversified chain of distribution channels.
