BLATT Books

BLATT Books is an independent book publisher of poetry and fiction. With editorial offices in Prague, Berlin, and New York, BLATT Books is affiliated with the literary magazine BLATT, which was founded by Miro Peraica, Joshua Cohen, Travis Jeppesen, and Mario Dzurila in early 2006.
BLATT Books released its first publication, Poems I Wrote While Watching TV, in May 2006. A collaboration between Jeppesen and painter Jeremiah Palecek, Poems I Wrote While Watching TV has been described as "a ruthlessly implosive meditation on the death of language in a media-saturated world."
In October 2007, BLATT Books will release its second publication, the debut collection of the young Slovene poet Aleš Mustar. The book is entitled C(o)urt Interpretations.
In early 2007, BLATT Books announced that it would be holding a contest in order to find their first novel. Editors specified that they are primarily interested in "nontraditional, 'experimental' prose narrative." The winner of this contest, C. Bard Cole's This is Where My Life Went Wrong, was published in 2009.
2009 will also see the publication of Carbon by Heidi James, Dicklung & Others by Travis Jeppesen, and The Insurgent by Noah Cicero.
BLATT Books are distributed by Small Press Distribution.
