List of focusing directions of binoculars
This list is an attempt to gather information about a vital property of binoculars. This information is never provided by the manufacturers unless upon explicit request. As per June 22, 2013, all specifications are collected from the links at the end of the article.
Definitions: Binoculars that focus anticlockwise (counter-clockwise) from near towards infinity:
When viewed from the ocular side, the focus knob's upper part is pulled left when changing focus from close focus and out.
Binoculars that focus clockwise from near towards infinity:
When viewed from the ocular side, the focus knob's upper part is pulled right when changing focus from close focus and out.
Abbreviations: CW for clockwise, ACW for anticlockwise/counter-clockwise
