William (Billy) Hallowell (born September 28, 1983) is a journalist, activist and commentator. In 1999 he created Teen Web Online , an outlet devoted to tackling social issues that young Americans face and in 2002, he teamed up with Julie Stoffer from MTV's The Real World and Columbine survivor, Richard Hoover, to launch the Peace Project National speaking tour. Hallowell also launched Pathufind Media, a project that subcontracts affordable speakers to colleges and community groups. From 2008 until 2009, Hallowell was the CEO and Content Manager of VoterWatch, a non-partisan non-profit . Hallowell writes for a variety of publications including FrontPage Magazine and Human Events, Big Government, Big Hollywood, Big Journalism and The Huffington Post . Controversy In Jan. 2010, Jamison Foser of Media Matters for America and Billy Hallowell exchanged debate via blog posts over Air America's closure. On the Media Matters blog, Foser claimed that Hallowell "...either can't read or enjoys lying." .
