The Big Silver Martin rabbit originates from the European Union and Croatia. It is a large sized rabbit, and weights 8-12 pounds. Its fur comes in a glossy black, blue, or white. It has short erect ears. It is not recognized by the American Rabbit Breeders Association or the British Rabbit Council. It was created by scientists in 1924, and was created when 2 Silver Marten rabbits were breaded. The rabbit was more fit, healthy, and active than the regular Silver Marten. The Big Silver Marten was brought to the United States, France, Germany, and other places in the 1930s. The diet consists of 70 percent hay, the rest of its diet being pellets, leafy greens, fruits, and vegetables. It can live both indoors and outdoors, as well as living comfortably in temperatures from 50 degrees fahrenheit to 80 degrees fahrenheit.
