Bhojani

The Bhojani is one of the Hindu Clans in South Asia, alike Panjwani, Rajani, Virani that had originated in Indian Gujrat in South Asia hundreds of years ago. In 18th and 19th Century, religious conversions took place primarily to Ismaili,one of the shia faction of Islam. Later on many converted to the isna asheri another shia faction of Islam. After 1947 many of the Muslim Bhojanis both Ismaili shia and isna asheri shia migrated to Pakistan. At present day many Bhojanis are living primarily in India.
Many of the Hindu Bhojani's moved to england in the 20th century and now live mainly in Wellingborough and Loughborough. In Britain there is mainly just one family of Bhojani's consisting of 7 Brothers and 3 sisters, of which 2 brothers and one sister have deceased. The eldest two brothers, Amratlal Karsandas Bhojani (Died 1996) & Kantilal Karsandas Bhojani (Died 2006) settled in Loughborough in the 1970's. The Family of Amratlal Karsandas Bhojani moved to London after the death of Amratlal Karsandas's youngest son in the late 1990's. The familly of Kantilal Karsandas still live in Loughborough and are amongst the few joint families living together in britain, they have a lot of admiration & respect in the town as they are a very wealthy and well known family in the town, Most of the wealth was attained by the small fortune Kantilal Karsandas left behind for his wife and two children and the rest earned from a small hoisery business the two daughter in-laws ran and a small Italian restaurant owned by the youngest son of Kantilal Karsandas. The rest of the Bhojani's Live in Wellingborough with 4 brothers and 2 sisters currently living there.
There is also another 'unrelated' Shia Bhojani family living in Loughborough who moved there from Newcastle upon Tyne in the early 1990's. At present they consist of three brothers and one sister with the mother being the matriach of the family. Individuals with the bhojani name are well in excess of 70 people.
