Beth Houlbrooke is the Deputy Leader of ACT New Zealand. She currently serves on the Rodney Local Board and was formerly the Chair thereof. Biography Houlbrooke started her political career in local politics and was formerly the chair of the Rodney local board. She co-founded and was the leader of the Rodney First local government ticket, which secured five of the nine available seats on the Rodney Local Board in 2016, in their first election. She contested the electorate in both and for ACT placing sixth on both occasions. In the lead up to the election, Houlbrooke was appointed Deputy Leader of ACT New Zealand after the resignation of Kenneth Wang. She contested Rodney again and was placed number 2 on ACT's party list.
