Professor Benon C. Basheka is a Ugandan academic, researcher and Senior Management consultant. He is currently serving as a Professor of Governance and the First Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic affairs at Kabale University. He is also an extraordinary professor of Governance at the North Western University Business School of South Africa, a Visiting professor and research fellow at the School of Governance and Public Management at the University of Johannesburg in South Africa. Background and Education Basheka has a PhD in Public Administration from the University of Dar es slaam-Tanzania, a PhD In Education Management and Administration from Makerere University in Uganda, a Masters in Social Sector Planning and Management from Makerere University in Uganda, a Masters in Management studies (Project Management and Evaluation) from Uganda Management Institute, a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management from Uganda Management institute, a Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supply management (UK) and a Bachelor of Political Science and Public Administration. He also has a Bachelor of Laws from Cavendish University in Uganda. Career Basheka commenced his Academic career at Makerere University as an Assistant Lecturer and later became a lecturer at Uganda Management Institute (UMI). He introduced several Academic Programmes both at PhD and Masters level and later became the acting director of programmes. He became the Dean for School of Business and management at Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU) in 2013. After introducing several programmes at this institution, he was appointed as the Vice Chancellor form 2015 to 2019. Basheka later Joined Kabale University as a Professor of Governance and later became the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs. He still serving as a visiting professor at University of Johannesburg. Scholarly Work Basheka has research and published in various recognized journals and has undertaken consultancies for Governments and multi-lateral agencies in Uganda and the region.
