Benn Eifert

Benjamin Eifert is an American hedge fund manager. He is the founder and chief investment officer of QVR.
Biography
Eifert was educated at Stanford University where obtained bachelor's degree in Economics and PhD in Economics at UC Berkeley. He began his career on the Wells Fargo proprietary trading desk, which later spun out into a hedge fund called Overland Advisors. He then started the hedge fund Mariner Coria at Mariner Investment Group with Jonathan Loflin which "exploits mispricings linked to structured products and derivatives end-user flows".
QVR has been mentioned in several publications, including Institutional Investor, CNBC MSN Bloomberg and Financial Times as having been on the other side of blowups of risky hedge fund positioning during March 2020. Bloomberg noted that QVR's absolute return strategy generated more than 50% returns in March 2020 . Business Insider stated that Newport Beach-based fund of funds PAAMCO backed Eifert's QVR in 2017.
