Beer diver

Beer Diver or "Diver" is a beer drinking game created by patrons of Billerica Massachusetts
This popular drinking game is played north of Boston, and typically within college dorms in the city Boston. Omicron Pi, Phi Kappa and many dorms in UMass Lowell and Amherst play beer diver. The years Beer Diver has been played since the 1970's. Since then, it has spread through most of Massachusetts. Its characteristics are almost identical to Beer_die. However, When playing Beer Diver with ceramic coffee mugs the dice will ricochet quite fastest than beer die "dixie cups". This is a direct reason Bostonians enjoy playing the more physical Beer "Divah" game.
Game items
* Die
** Use White/Black & Heavy plastic (Acetate) dice (Seen at top)
** Don't use: Polyhedral (Backgammon) or Red/White Light plastic dice (Below Top)
* Rectangular (Dining / Kitchen) Table
* 4 Coffee Mugs / 4 keg cups
* Beer
* 4 chairs
Game Setup
* Fill each coffee mug 1/2 way with water (do not waste beer)
* Place each coffee mug at each corner of Table with 4 to 6 inches from both edges
* Place each chair behind each cup or mug
Objective
* Two teams, each on opposite sides.
* Objective is to throw a single die in to the air and in to either opponents mug or cup
Dice Throwing Rules
* All throws must be underhand
* All dice must thrown above eye level
* All dice must land beyond half the length of the table
* All dice must hit Table or Cup
* All dice must be thrown when the opposite team is not drinking beer
* All dice must be thrown while sitting in chair.
** if chairs are not available this chair rule is nullified.
Catching the Dice
* All defensive attempts to catch the dice must not include Goaltending the dice above Table or Cup
* Sometimes there are no seats available therefore a seat rule is not applicable when catching the dice.
* However when there are seats, players must remain in seats until dice has hit cup or table.
* Dice must be caught with a single hand.
Scoring Rules
* If the dice lands in the cup with or without hitting the table - Thrower Team: Score 2 points, Fail team: Finish Beer.
* Failing to catch the dice:
** When the dice hits the cup or table - Thrower Team: Score 1 point, Fail: team Drink.
Score
* Typically a single game of beer diver can last 15 minutes depending on skill level and match point.
* Game ends when team reaches 7 points with a 2 point lead.
* Winner must score greater than or equal to 2 points of opponents score.
* Typical scores are beyond the 7 point limit.
Drinkability
* Beer diver is serious business.
