Becky Curtis is an R&B and blues singer based in Los Angeles, California, most well known as the backup singer for legendary rock writer Otis Blackwell. Curtis was most active in the 70s and 80s with bands such as Becky and the Blu-Tones, Sugar Smack and Back-Alley Band. Becky was also in an early band with Rosie Flores. Becky worked for Atlantic Records with Ahmet Ertegun writing songs, including a demo which included her hits "Try" and "I'm Yours." Becky was a featured performer at New York City's Kenny's Castaways in the 80s and hosted the Midnite Jam with artists such as Jaco Pastorious, Doc Pomus and Chris Spedding; she later returned in 2007 for Kenny's 40th anniversary show. Becky is married to Jay Curtis (Disasterpiece Theatre) and her son JT Curtis is also a musician.
