Beast of Bevendean

The Beast of Bevendean is a panther-like creature which has been spotted around the Brighton and Hove area of England since 2008. The Beast is thought to have been a Big cat or a cryptid. It is the subject of a movie Young Hunters: The Beast of Bevendean.
History
Sightings of a large creature date to the 1990s. Some names which were assigned to the creature were: Portslade Panther, the Beast of Bevendean and the Hell Hound of Moulsecoomb. People began reporting a large black cat, as big as a dog.
Warnings were issued to local residents in 2008, and in June 2008 a local man reported an attack by the beast upon his dog. Following an investigation by the British Big Cats Society, it was determined that "it could be a panther." In a response to claims that the animal could be part of a breeding population, a spokesman from Sussex Big Cat Watch said that "we don’t know how many are out there. There could be two or three or there could be dozens."
In the book Adventures in Cryptozoology, author Richard Freeman states that there have been several big cats which have been at large in the United Kingdom and they are usually tagged with the "Beast" Moniker.
