Beardcore

Beardcore is a sub-genre of heavy metal music, started in America, where many of the musicians have beards. It comprises of so called "Happy Hardcore" or "Easy Hardcore" metal music. The songs lyrics are usually sung rather than shouted, but all the major ideals from metal are there (the double pedal, drop tuned guitars, breakdowns.) The only major difference is the songs are played in a major (or "happy") key. the band Four Year Strong are thought to lead this genre as most of the members have full facial beards and play the "happycore" punk pop music. Matt Kadane, of the band The New Year, is said to be a poioneer of the genre.
The record label No Idea Records specializes in the beardcore genre.
Appearance
Members of beardcore bands dress in similar clothing to bands of the punk pop and popcore genre with colourful t-shirts, check shirts, skateboarding shoes such as vans, and new era hats. also most of the members will have full facial beards.
Beardcore Fest
The venue "Skelletones" in Grand Rapids, MI held an annual event called "Beardcore" from 2006 to 2008, which featured bands like LaDispute, The Skies Revolt, Rise Into Ruin, The Family Line, Theashin' In The Streets, Come ~ Find The Lion, Dagon, Beseiged, Stars Will Fall, Ivan and the Ghetto Grillahz.
