Battle of Southern Jutland is a term which is used to describe the rivalry between two of the main clubs in the east Jutland region in Danish football Esbjerg fB and SønderjyskE. History behind rivalry The rivalry between Esbjerg fB and SønderjyskE is first and foremost a regional rivalry between two cities in southern Jutland which is only about 62 miles (100 kilometres) from each other. The rivalry between these two clubs is also in many ways the rivalry between the tradition club of Esbjerg fB from 1924 against the new modern club SønderjyskE from 2004 which was formed as superstructure of Haderslev FK (founded 1906). Of the two clubs, there is no doubt that Esbjerg fB is the most successful of them with five Danish Football Championship titles and three Danish Cup titles. SønderjyskE have in contrast to Esbjerg fB never won any Danish Cup titles or Danish Football Championship titles.
