Baton of honour

The baton of honour and Scottish Police Federation trophy is the highest award available to a police officer at the Scottish Police College, Tulliallan.

The student is awarded the Baton at the passing out parade by the senior inspecting officer, and their name is inscribed upon a board within the college and stands as a roll of honour.

Approximately 1% of students who attend the college are awarded the Baton of Honour.

Previous recipients of the award are Chief Constable Colin McKerracher of Grampian Police; Chief Constable Patrick Shearer of Dumfries & Galloway Constabulary and other notable officers.
