Bassem Fleifel

Bassem Marwan Fleifel (; born October 19, 1987) is a Lebanese researcher, academic, and n specializing in Ottoman history. He has numerous studies and publications in this field.
Bassem Fleifel was born in Beirut on October 19, 1987. He attended Beirut Arab University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Laws in 2010, follow by a Master's and Doctor of Philosophy in Modern and Contemporary History in 2019. In 2018, Fleifel published his master's thesis in a book titled The Position of the People of Beirut on the Revolution Against Sultan Abdul Hamid II 1908-1909. The book includes an introduction from his master's thesis supervisor, Hassan Hallak. He later published his doctoral thesis, The Ottomans and the protection of Lebanon in the ruling era of Emir Fakhreddin.
In December 2022, Fleifel participated in the memorial service for Abdulrahim Abu-Husayn held by the American University of Beirut under the title "Tribute to Historian Abdulrahim Abu-Husayn." He also delivered another lecture titled "The Establishment of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church and the Ottoman State's Protection of It" under the patronage of the University for Seniors, and another titled "The Mongols' Conversion to Islam and Their Relations with the Arab East" in October 2023.
Fleifel edited the memoirs of Badia Masabni, published by Nelson Publishing House in early 2024. He also published a book titled The Healer in the Biography of Abu al-Ala al-Ma'arri in February of the same year.
