History
Pre-2011
Prior to 2011, A.P. Adair and Luke Sims produced their music separately. A.P. was best known for his rhythm guitar role in local Denver jam-band ‘Rocky Mountain Funk’ and produced electronic music on the side under the name ‘Applied Physics.’ Previous to working with A.P., Luke Sims performed and produced electronic music under the stage name ‘DataBass.’ When the two met and formally began producing music together, they combined their names and became officially known as ‘Bass Physics.’
2011-Present
A.P. Adair and Luke Sims began producing music while attending their senior year of high school in Greenwood Village, Colorado. After graduating from Cherry Creek High School, Luke Sims accepted a scholarship to play football for Iowa State. A.P. chose to attend Colorado State University, but they stayed connected and continued diligently with their music production. In early 2012, they began preforming live in college towns throughout Colorado and quickly began garnering attention state-wide with their energetic performance and live set. Within their first year of performing together, Bass Physics was featured at Red Rocks annual ‘Global Dance festival,’ ‘Sonic Bloom Festival’ and University of Colorado’s ‘Welcomefest,’ as well as various out-of-state performances throughout the U.S.
Bass Physics released their debut album, Lose Your Mind, in April of 2012. The eleven-track project highlighted the group’s progressive sound and was well received by fans and critics alike. They followed up their album with the popular release of the summer singles ‘Old School Melody,’ ‘Summer Solstice’ and ‘Global Love.’
