Barzan Qalay Xaluz

Barzan Qalay Xaluz, () known by his fans as Barzan Xaluz is a Kurdish comedian and veteran Kurdish Peshmerga. Barzan was born on July 1, 1957 in the Kurdish city of Suleimani. Barzan played a pivotal role in the fight for Kurdish liberation and was instrumental as a guide to the Peshmerga Force of Kurdistan from 1978 to 1989. Barzan Xaluz returned to the rank of the Peshmerga Force in 1991 and played an important role in the liberation of Suleimani from the grasp of Saddam Hussein in early March 1991.
Barzan Xaluz found his calling in acting, first joining the staff of Khak TV and acted in the popular Kurdish comedy show called Kashkol. In 1997 Kashkol changed its name to Barnamay Barnama -- where Barzan, Kak Mustafa and Kak Ahmad played a number of roles, the most famous being the wily student at Mister's classroom. Barzan has also starred in a number of movies, the most famous being Khula Pizza. Barzan is currently a radio personality and is actively involved in Khak Radio.1.jpg
Barzan Xaluz is also a well known donor to the Suleimani Ancient Museum and has to date donated the single largest amount of ancient Assyirian, Akkadian, Median, Ashkani, Summerian and Ancient Persian artificats to any museum in Iraq.
