Barry Chilton

Barry Edward Chilton is the former leader of the British Columbia Conservative Party, a political party in the Province of British Columbia, Canada. The party currently holds no seats in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia.
Chilton is a former Engineer Officer in the Merchant Navy for Ellerman & Bucknell Cargo and P & O Lines, a technician in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, owner/operator of a heating and air conditioning company, instructor at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) and Vancouver Community College, and a real estate agent.
He was an unsuccessful candidate for the Conservative Party in the 2001 BC election in the riding of Richmond-Steveston. He stood as a candidate for the party in the 2005 BC election in the riding of West Kootenay-Boundary. He won 802 votes, 3.63% of the total for the riding -- coming in fourth place. The party did not win any seats under Chilton's leadership.
At the September 24, 2005 Annual General Meeting of the British Columbia Conservative Party, members voted to hold a leadership convention -- ending Chilton's tenure as Leader.
He has served as a director, vice president and president of the Lower Mainland Hunters Council, a lobbying organization for hunters.
