Barbara Januszkiewicz

Barbara Januszkiewicz is an American painter. In 1997 she interviewed Hilda Thorpe. Her work was shown at the McLean Project for The Arts in 2015, and at the Martha Spak Gallery in 2018. In 2017 she opened a gallery space, Metro Micro Gallery, with a grant from Arlington County.
Her style incorporates elements of Color Field painting and of Abstract Expressionism. She has worked in watercolor and, in the manner of Helen Frankenthaler, in dilute acrylic on unprepared canvas.
She made a television documentary about a traveling roadshow from Boston called Museum of Bad Art. Another documentary, Remembering The Present, was filmed in the Kreeger Museum in Washington, D.C., in July 2000.
