Banchbo Sharad Samman

Banchbo Sharad Samman is a unique award given to best Durga Puja committee
in Kolkata pujo festival, one of the popular Indian festival and considerd as the largest carnival of Bengali residing in India specially
in the state of West Bengal. Though it is mainly Hindu festival but it is incorporated as integral part of culture of West Bengal, Bangladesh and all over the world rich with Bengali community and all section of people enjoy this festival as Sarbojanin (universal). This unique award of Pujo rating is adjucated by Children of Kolkata, Sunderban and Purulia districts of West Bengal mainly marginalized section and also by the Senior citizen. Unique conception of judging award by Marginalized children was started in the year 2002.
Since inception it added new dimension in Sharodatav of Kolkata. From 2014 another category was introduced along with existing categories "Prabasher Chokhe Desher Sera" (best pujo adjucated by NRIs of UK).
Award category
Total five categories of awards are given to pujo committees.
* Shera Pujo (Best Pujo) by Children (from Street children of Kolkata, children from Sundarban and Purulia, children from orphanage, children of Sex workers and students from partner School) (1st, 2nd, 3rd);
* Shera Pujo by Seniors (from underprivileged of Kolkata, Sundarban and Purulia and eminent from different field)(1st, 2nd, 3rd);
* Prabasher Chokhe Desher Sera-best pujo adjucated by NRI's of UK in collaboration with London Sharad Utsav along with another three pujo organizers from UK - Wales Pujo Committee,Bengali Association of Midland and Indian Cultural Society,Cambridge associated with this event as Prabasi Partners (1st, 2nd, 3rd);
* Sera Samajsebi Pujo for best social excellence;
* Sera Pujo Sangathak (Best Managed Pujo) by management expert from Calcutta Management Association.
*Sera Swasthakar Pujo - Best Healthy Pujo in association Eastern India's first Health and Lifestyle channel U turn
At the year of inception 2002 only one category of award (Shera Pujo by Marginalized children) were given to pujo committees but later other categories were introduced:

*Sera Swasthakar Pujo - 2016
* 2015 certificates for award winners of Prabaser Chokhe Deser Sera category were signed by legendary footballer Pele.
*2016 certificates for all award winners are signed by former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly.

Award Ceremony of the year 2015 held at prestigious hall of Kolkata at ICCR in presence of distinguished guests: Mr. Mrinal Chowdhury - Past Mayor of London borough of Harrow, Mr. M. Asadur Rahman - Chief of UNICEF, West Bengal, Mr. Ambarish Dasgupta, President, Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industries. This year First time in history of Kolkata's pujo certificates signed by legendary footballer Pele given to award winners of Prabaser Chokhe Desher Sera category.
