Ballyclare North End FC (More commonly known as Ballyclare North End) is a Northern Irish football club from Ballyclare and playing in the Junior Division 2 of the Ballymena & Provincial Intermediate League.
History Ballynure North End was established in the summer of 2004 and joined the BBOB League for two seasons. North End were able to start off in the fifth division as opposed to the lowest league, the sixth In June 2005 they moved to the newly formed Junior League - The Ballymena & Provincial Junior Division. North End are sponsored by their local drinking establishment, the Ballyboe, which have provided them with the financial backing to get going. When they formed their team they couldn't decide on a name unti; retired goalkeeper Ronnie Hylands suggested the name Ballyclare North End which they immediately accepted. They called it this because of Ballyclare for obvious reasons and the Ballyboe is located 2-4 North End, Ballyclare! On 11th October 2007 Ballyclare North End Football Club would part ways then manager Thomas McColgan. This was due to a disappointing start to 07/08 season. However they wouldn't find a successor until Saturday 19 January 2008, when Ballyclare North End announced the Alan McCullough as the new manager.
2007/08 overview Junior Division 2 On 25th August they played their first league match against Carniny AFC which they would lose 3-0. They would lose their next 7 league games (9 including cup games) against Castle Rangers, Woodlands FC, Cookstown Olympic Colts, Desertmartin Swifts, Chimney Corner Reserves, Woodlands again and Carnlough Utd over 2 months. This would lead to the firing of manager Thomas McColgan. They would finally win their first game their first game on 17th November 2007 defeating FC Ballynure Athletic winning 4-0. The following week they would play FC Ballynure Athletic again this time losing 2-0. They would lose both their December games against Newtownabbey 7's and Carnlough Utd losing 5-0 and 3-2 respectively. They would win their first match of the new year on 5th January 2008 against Desertmartin Swifts and lose 5-2. They would lose their next 4 league games against Newtownabbey 7's, FC Larne, Cookstown Olympic Colts and Carniny AFC. After 5 losses (6 including cup) they would finally win on 1st March defeating Castle Rangers 6-3. They would lose their last two league games against Chimney Corner Reserves and FC Larne losing 4-1 and 3-2 respectively. They would finish 11th (last) playing 20 games, winning 3, drawing none and losing 17. Linda Welshman Memorial Cup They would play their first leg of the First Round of the Linda Welshman Memorial Cup on 27th October 2007 against Ballymoney Reserves losing 5-1. They played their second leg on 12th January 2008 and would lose 4-0. Effectively putting them out of the Linda Welshman Memorial Cup in the first round.
Canada Cup On 15th March they would play their first leg of the Canada Cup against Carnlough Utd losing 2-1. On 2nd April they would play their second leg of the first round against Carnlough Utd drawing 1-1. But due to the Aggregate Carnlough would win 3-2 effectively putting them out in the First Round of the Canada Cup.
2008/09 Season Junior Division 2 On 29th August they would win their first league game against Ballyclare United with the scoreline finishing 3-1. On 6th September they would lose their first league game against Desertmartin Swifts with the scoreline finishing 4-1. They would lose their next three league games against Cookstown Olympic Colts, Comrades Reserves, and FC Ballynure Reserves. On 11th October After three losses they would win aginst Red Star with the scoreline finishing 4-1. They would follow up this win the following week against Ballyclare United with the score finishing 7-2.
Linda Welshman Memorial Cup On 1st November they are scheduled to play 14th Newtownabbey in the first round of the Linda Welshman Memorial Cup.
