"Bakugan Rules"

This is a 2 player game. Each player has a team of 3
Bakugan and each is trying to be the first to capture 3
Gate cards.

"Setting Up"

Each player needs 3 Bakugan, 3 Gate cards: one of each
color, (The Gate cards are heavier than the others and
make the Bakugan open.) and 3 Ability cards: one of each color.
Players should sit about 2-1/2 feet from each other. The
play area should be a smooth, flat surface. The space
between the two players is called the Field.
When ready, each player says, “Field - Open!”
Players should hold their unused cards in their hands (or
leave them face down), so that their opponent cannot see
the faceside. Their unused Bakugan should be closed
(marble-like). Each player has a used pile on their left;
this is where played Ability cards, Gate cards won, and
used Bakugan go.

"How to play"

Each player places one of their
Gate cards face down
(i.e., Bakugan logo is face up)
in front of their opponent, so
that they barely touch each
other at their top, while
saying, “Gate Card - Set!”
Note: Setting Gate cards
occurs at the start of any
turn where there are no
Gate cards in the field.
The youngest player
goes first.
Players then take
turns.

The player whose
turn it is chooses a
Bakugan and says,
“Bakugan - Brawl!”
The player then rolls
one of his unused Bakugan
at the Gate cards in the field.

"Battling"

Battle is one Bakugan vs. one Bakugan and happens
whenever Bakugan from two different players end up on
the same Gate card.

Detach the two Bakugan from the Gate card and read
each Bakugan’s G-Power.

Gate Reveal: Flip the Gate card over and do what it says.
Ability Cards: Play Ability cards (if desired) - first, by the
player whose turn it is. Each Ability card says when it can
be played. Tell your opponent that you are playing the
card, do what the card says and then put the card in your
Used pile.

Gate Card G-Power Boost: After both players are
finished playing Ability cards, each Bakugan gets to add
the Gate Card G-Power boost. Simply match the color of
a Bakugan to the color symbol on the Gate card and add
that number to the Bakugan’s G-Power.

The battle is won by the Bakugan that now has the
higher G-Power. The player who wins the battle puts the
Gate card in their used pile.

In the event of a tie: Each player rolls an unused
Bakugan. First Bakugan to stand on a Gate card wins.

"The Story"

One day, cards began to fall from the sky and were picked up by kids all over the world. The cards featured different characters, different environments, and different powers. Kids created a popular battle game not knowing that these cards actually corresponded to an alternate world called Vestroia. Kids from all over the world played with the cards, yet 6 kids stood out: Dan, Marucho, Runo, Shun, Julie and Alice. They named the monsters “Bakugans” and their elite team the “Bakugan Battle Brawlers”.

Vestroia is a vast dimension comprised of 6 attribute worlds: Fire, Earth, Light, Darkness, Water and Wind. At the very centre of this universe there are two opposing energy cores; THE INFINITY CORE, the source of all positive energy and… THE SILENT CORE, the source of all negative energy. Throughout history, these two opposing forces had maintained the balance of equilibrium in Vestroia.

However, there was one rogue Bakugan who lusted for control, and schemed to seize all of the power for himself. His name was Naga and his mission was to penetrate the silent core and seize its power.

Meanwhile, back on Earth a scientist named Michael had been working on a dimension transportation device. During testing of the machine, an explosion sucked him in and led him to Vestroia where he discovered the two energy cores. While trying to return to earth, he was pulled in by the evil energy of the Silent Core and became the villain known as “Hal G”. While in Vestroia, Hal G encountered the Bakugan Naga, and the two made a deal - Hal G would give Naga the human world in exchange for his control over Vestroia!

Naga eventually succeeded in his goal of reaching the silent core and began to absorb its negative energy. However, the negative energy proved too much for Naga to handle. The negative energy exploded and the Infinity Core fell to earth. Vestroia erupted in pandemonium; the negative power overwhelming the minds and wills of the Bakugan who live there.

As Vestroia begun to collapse, the human world is also affected. The “Infinity Core” and “the Silent Core” are interfering with one another and starting to run wild. Now it is up to Dan and the other Battle Brawlers to find the Infinity Core and reunite it with the Silent Core to restore balance. What these young warriors initially thought was just a game has become a race to restore peace throughout the universe!

"Main Characters"

Dan Kuso: Dan is a 12 year old boy who loves Bakugan. His greatest ambition is to be the number 1 battle brawler in the world. He is a Pyrus battler. He is very quick to temper and he is in love with Runo, but he doesn't want to admit it(neither does Runo). His guardian Bakugan is the Pyrus-attribute Dragonoid(nicknamed Drago).

Runo Mizaki: At the age of 12, Runo is not your typical pre-teen girl. Runo is a tomboy who loves playing Bakugan with people that have skills to show off. Runo is a Haos battler. Her Guardian Bakugan is the Haos-attribute Tigrerra, who is very obedient to her master and powerful in battle. Runo hates when people think that just because she is a girl, they can beat her. At the end of the series she and Dan are seen on a movie date.

Marucho Marukuros: He is a wealthy, 11 year old who is very generous and smart. He is what you could call a walking encyclopedia. He loves to play Bakugan and he also likes to work on strategies. He used to be extremely obedient to his parents just because he wanted to please them, but that changed when he met the Brawlers. He now has no regrets for the past, realizing that he only wanted to make his parents happy. He is an Aquos battler. His Guardian Bakugan are the Aquos-attribute Preyas and the Haos Angelo/Pyrus Diablo Preyas. Preyas was sent to the Doom Dimension in Marucho's battle with Klaus Von Hertzon. Later Klaus shows up with Preyus. Dan and Runo find a way to get Preyas back through defeating him in battle. Preyas evolves into a two-sided Bakugan called Preyas Angelo (Haos) and Preyas Diablo (Pyrus). Unlike the other Bakugan however, Preyas multiplies when he evolves, so Marucho got to keep the old Preyas. He is short and small. Preyas also has a move called "Change of Attribute" with that he can take advantage of the opponents gate card.

Julie: She's 12 years old and tries to stay happy even when the worst has happened (for example, when Billy ended up under the control of Masquerade), her acting happy after something terrible happened is generally just to cover up her real feelings. Julie forgets things easily, proving that she is a little scatterbrained at times. She is always up and happy with a positive attitude. She is a Subterra battler. At the beginning of the series, she is shown to have a crush on Dan (which led to some arguments with a jealous Runo), but later, she likes someone else and accepts a date offer from him and they start going out. Julie has a sister named Daisy who has bested her in everything since she was a child. Her Guardian Bakugan is Subterra-attribute Gorem.

Shun Kazami: He is a very strong, silent, cool type 13-year-old. He is the former 1st ranked Bakugan player who later moves down to sixth position. He is a master of Bakugan, and is also Dan's childhood friend. Shun is a loner, a boy of very few words, yet is willing to help his friends at every turn almost. He is a Ventus battler. He approaches Bakugan like a ninja. He lives with his grandfather (who used to be a famous ninja warrior) who once expected Shun to follow in his footsteps instead of playing Bakugan. His Guardian Bakugan is the Ventus-attribute Skyress whom Shun received from his comatose mother in the hospital.

Alice Gehabich: She is a 12-year-old-girl and, the princess of Bakugan from Moscow who doesn't play Bakugan. Michael Gehabich is her grandfather, but after learning that her grandfather became Hal-G and works with Naga, she constantly worried about him. Alice usually just gives advice to the brawlers, instead of battling. Alice and Marucho are the 2 brawlers who mostly use strategy. Although unlike Marucho, Alice gives her strategies to the brawlers. During season 2 she left the Brawlers after finding out that she was Masquerade out of intense guilt over what she did as him, but later returns in time to save Dan and Drago.

Masquerade: He used to be the number 1 Bakugan player before he left Alice's body. His goal is to send all Bakugan to the Doom Dimension with his Doom Card, so he can evolve his Hydranoid and have the Ultimate Bakugan. He is a Darkus battler. He is revealed to be Alice in episode 38 and 39. Masquerade came to being when negative energy changed Alice. (Who doesn't know she is Masqurade or what happens when she becomes him.) Alice's Grandfather was also affected by the negative energy and he was changed into Hal-G.(A man working with Naga to destroy Earth and Vestroia.) He battles with Dan in episode 38 and loses. He is actually Alice, but Masquerade disappears from her body.

Joe Brown: Also known as Webmaster Joe. He lived in a hospital with his mother. The Brawlers used to think he was working for Masquerade, but he actually sent a message to the Brawlers to warn them that Masquerade was plotting against them. When he met Dan, he said he would only tell him if he was working for Masquerade if Dan beat him in a battle. In the middle of the battle he fainted. When he woke up they asked him to be one of the Brawlers. He gladly accepted. Sometime after he moved to the Brawlers neighborhood, he found Wayvern who had the Infinity core inside her. Wayvern's attribute is Infinity which is positive energy. Wayvern is Joe's Guardian Bakugan. At the end of the last episode of Bakugan Joe and Chan Lee are seen on a bench together holding hands.Joe is the first person to beat Masquerade at Bakugan.
