Baghdad University shooting

On January 5, 2025, a shooting occurred at Al-Israa University College in Baghdad, resulting in six injuries. The assailant, identified as 19-year-old Ibrahim Ali Muhammad Jabr Al-Saadi, was not a student at Al-Israa University but was enrolled in the nursing program at Baghdad Private College of Medical Sciences. He entered the campus around noon, armed with two pistols and a bayonet, and opened fire, injuring three students, two security guards, and one administrative staff member.
The university's security team responded swiftly, apprehending the shooter within 50 seconds without using firearms.

At 12:00 PM, the assailant, 19-year-old Ibrahim Ali Muhammad Jabr Al-Saadi, entered the campus of Al-Israa University College in Baghdad's Karrada neighborhood.
