Back Sabbath

Back Sabbath is a heavy metal band formed in 2007 in Montreal, Canada. They emerged out of the ashes of a Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath cover band called Black Led. Guitarist Todd Fraser and drummer Danny Tkacz took the decision to become a Black Sabbath tribute band after meeting with singer/blues harmonica player Sotiri Papafylis. Papafylis had been the vocalist for Canadian thrash metal pioneers Eudoxis between 1989 and 1993. The band's lineup was complete in November 2007 with the addition of bass player Randy Darche who had played with Kaleidoscopik. Darche had been the band's lightman and decided to audition after witnessing several bass players come and go. Back Sabbath performs in full-costume in order to recreate Black Sabbath's early years which featured the classic lineup of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward.

Their official website was launched in June 2008. It features studio photographs shot by Richard Bernardin who is one of Canada's leading fashion photographers.
The short clips of classic Black Sabbath songs that can be heard on the website were recorded by Back Sabbath in October and November 2007 at Rising Sun Studio in Montreal. Back Sabbath have garnered a strong following worldwide after an international internet ad campaign.
