Activities
BSc Club's activities takes on a tripartite structure. Along with these three pillars, confidence level and leadership skills are developed for the student leaders in the club. In addition, the club supports Office of Teacher Education in various portfolio photo-shoots and other activities.
Us
Being Us, there are welfare outings to show that fun can be associated with science education. BSc Club has also created its own niche through the years. StarLite, an annual English singing competition, is an activity to unveil the hidden talents of student teachers at NIE, which otherwise go undiscovered. All work and no play works Jack a dull boy. Through this event, the club is able to show that student teachers can have their moments of stardom, besides teaching. Apart from that, the club has shared its successful StarLite model with cultural clubs like Chinese Language Educational and Research Club, and Malay Language and Cultural Society. By doing so, it will open up new opportunities for student teachers that enjoy singing in other languages and it will create a more vibrant community for NIE.
The Ideal Face
Being The Ideal Face, the club encourages student teachers to excel in info-communication technology. With e-Fiesta, it works closely with Office of Education to enhance teacher education on such technology, as the innovation of new technologies never stops around the globe. Furthermore, the club aids student teachers that are interested in diving. Several of them are beginning divers and this is a good opportunity for them to step out of their comfort zone to learn a new life skill. The club is also leading open house activities to showcase prospective activities that NIE is an active and vibrant environment for learning.
The Delivering Hands
Being The Delivery Hands, BSc Club provides networking opportunities across cohorts with freshmen to interact with one another. The freshmen orientation camps organized with Bachelor of Arts Club are enriching student teacher lives at NIE with teambonding activities. The interaction among the student teacher population is further heightened with the introduction of Dinner and Dance event. This event is jointly organized with Bachelor of Arts Club as well as TTC.
