Babble-On Begins is a 2012 Scottish comedy fan film written and directed by Christopher Downie. The film is based on the award winning podcast/live show 'Hollywood Babble-On', hosted by Kevin Smith and Ralph Garman and tells a some what fictional origin story. Within the world of the film, Kevin Smith and Ralph Garman become masked avengers and take to the streets to do battle with various villains. Aside from Frost, Fox and the film's director, the film also features cameo appearances from Kevin Smith, Ralph Garman, James Franco Jr, Kyle Hebert and Catherine Reitman. He only got as far as posting casting calls before eventually losing interest. That was until someone forwarded the call to Ralph Garman, who brought said call to the attention of Smith and the Hollywood Babble-On audience. After hearing his character break downs being read aloud, Christopher decided to go ahead with the production . The plot was re-written to incorporate more aspects of the show, including various favoured topics. During production, Downie reached out to everyone involved with the show including stand-in host Catherine Reitman and resident DJ, James Franco Jr. They all agreed to make cameo appearances. Kevin and Ralph even managed to include the audience who were made to chant in unison. The performance was then mixed and edited into the film's score .
