Baba Mayaram is a freelance Journalist and an independent researcher based in central Indian state Madhya Pradesh. He has devoted a significant time of his life in covering and raising developmental and rural issues. His main emphasis is to write in rising issues of rural India. He has a tight grasp on oral history. He has traveled extensively through the length and breadth of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh reporting and interviewing on a host of development issues such as traditional agriculture systems, environment, labour, women, slum dwellers, education, health, Adivasis, and focusing on the human - interest angle. These articles have been published in regional and national dailies including Danik Bhaskar, Jansatta, The Hindu, Times of India and EPW. He has also worked extensively on popularization of wall newsletter as alternative media for children as well as village communities. He is the Deputy Editor of Samayik Varta, a Hindi monthly magazine.
