Aysmmetric Video Game

An Asymmetric Video Game is a type of Multiplayer video game in which players may play in an unbalanced way.
Types of Asymmetry
The first type of Asymmetric Game is generally refereed to as Soft Asymmetry.
In "Soft Asymmetry" games the players have the same and have the same basic mechanics such as Movement and Death, yet all have different roles. Such as the game Team Fortress 2. All characters have the same basic mechanics, yet play fundamentally different. The Spy for example can turn invisible and disguise himself while The Engineer can build Sentry Guns and Dispenser and The Pyro uses flame based weapons. This kind of Asymmetric Game is the kind in which you can choose classes. They have become so popular over the years that they barely recognize them as Asymmetrical. This kind of Asymmetry has been known to heavily encourage teamwork as all the needed tools they need to win are split among different classes. This kind of game is popular among Fighting Games
The second type is referred to as Strong Asymmetry.
These games typically have one team that are practically the same or in Soft Asymmetric roles while the other team features players that play in a drastically different way. One type of Strong Asymmetric game is Evolve in which there is a team of 4 Monster Hunters that function similar but have different roles to fulfill and there is another team consisting of a singular player as the monster that plays in an extremely different way. Or the way of Fable Legends where one team plays as heroes going through a maze or dungeon while the other player plays as a "Boss" and can spawn traps or enemies. The latter kind of game allows for mixing of Genres to allow the game to be fun for more than one type of gamer, or for gamers who have different kinds of play-styles.
