Axel Tuanzebe

Axel Tuanzebe (born 14 November 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a central defender for the Premier League club Manchester United and the English U-19 national team. Born in Bunia, in the Democratic Republic of Congo and raised in Rochdale, Greater Manchester, Tuanzebe has been a part of Manchester United's Academy since the age of eight. Tuanzebe holds dual British nationality. Tuanzebe made his international debut for the England's U-19 team during a 2-0 warm-up defeat to Mexico in June 2016.
Early life
Axel Tuanzebe was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He grew up in Rochdale. He has been part of Manchester United’s Academy since a very young age of eight.
Club career
Since the age of eight, Tuanzebe has been learning his football at Manchester United. He was part of the Manchester united youth side that won the Milk Cup in 2013 and 2014. He captained the United's U-18 side as a first-year scholar. Tuanzebe certainly enjoyed his duty as a captain and has quoted, "I like bossing people around!" After moving to the U-21s team, Tuanzebe quickly adapted to the higher level and was so impressive that he even made to the substitute bench for the Manchester United senior side in a match against Crystal Palace at Selhurts Park that ended 0-0 on 31 October 2015 at the age of just 17. However, injuries halted his progress and kept him out of action for a large part of the campaign. He returned towards the latter stages of the season helping the united's under-21 side win the title for the 2015-16 season. Tuanzebe made 10 starts and one substitute appearance for Warren Joyce's Under-21s side.
International career
Tuanzebe made his first appearance at any level for England when he came on at half-time for Everton's Ryan Ledson during a 2-0 warm-up defeat to Mexico. He was then handed his first start by coach Aidy Boothroyd for the second fixture against Mexico and played the full 90 minutes.<ref name="mufc"/>
