Aviv Maayan

Aviv Maayan is an Israeli-Welsh former professional wrestler. Maayan is best known for competing in the Frontier Wrestling Alliance, Real Quality Wrestling, Varsity Pro Wrestling and other independent promotions in the United Kingdom.
Professional wrestling career
Mayaan began training at the Frontier Wrestling Alliance Academy on 28 June 2002 under the tutelage of Mark Sloan. Maayan made his pro wrestling debut at FWA:A show Explosion on the 15 February 2003 in a losing effort to Eamon Shrahan.
Since graduating from the FWA:A, Aviv Maayan has worked in over twenty promotions in the United Kingdom including FWA, All Star Wrestling, Premier Promotions, WAW, IPW:UK and many more. He also went on to wrestle in Israel for the Israeli Pro Wrestling Association, in Germany for westside Xtreme wrestling and in France for Force Francophone Catch.

On 23 January 2005, Aviv Maayan won IPW:UK's Best of British: High Flyers after a nearly 25 minute match (24:58). This elimination style match contained many top name British high flyers, namely Dragon Phoenix, Jonny Storm, Flaming Red, Spud. The Best of British win would make Maayan #1 contender for the IPW:UK title, Maayan would go on to hold the belt for one night only before losing it to Martin Stone on 17 July.
On 28 October 2005, Aviv Maayan made his Varsity Pro Wrestling debut in a match against fellow FWA:A graduate Max Voltage, Maayan would win this match. During Maayan's first VPW appearance in 2006 he was defeated by Phil Powers. After the match a mystery man attacked Maayan with a powerbomb into a boston crab submission, "The Twisted Genius" Dean Ayass (former manager of WWE's Paul Burchill) then made his way to the ring and introduced the man as his new protégé, Joel Redman. On VPW's first Charity Show Maayan got his chance to face Redman, Maayan won the match even though he was considerabley outsized but this would not end their feud as once again after Aviv Mayaan lost a match to Jorge Castano, Redman and Ayass would once again come to the ring and attack Mayaan.
During this time he would wrestle in other independent promotions in the UK including Real Quality Wrestling where he feuded with The Bulldozer. One match between the two saw a stipulation added by Sam Gibbs, a member of the Real Quality Wrestling Fan Forum, which made the match a 2 out of 3 falls match, Aviv Maayan would win the match 2-1.
Throughout the rest of 2006, Maayan concentrated adding more lean muscle to his frame in hopes of achieving a bigger build to compete in bodybuilding competitions. In late 2006, Mayaan would also turn heel in the IPW:UK promotion, aligning himself with Andy Boy Simmons and LT Summers to form the Hated Heroes; helping Simmons take the IPW:UK title away from Martin Stone.
He also worked for the popular American promotion PWG in there European Vacation tour that took place in England and Germany in 2006 & 2007 working against Human Tornado, Excalibur and Disco Machine.
Retirement
After remaining inactive since early 2009, Maayan effectively retired from professional wrestling and began a career as a Muay Thai fighter in addition to becoming the owner of QuickFit.
