Autech Software and Design (Autech) is a software and graphic design company which provides colour marketing solutions to companies helping them to promote and sell their products. Established in 1993 in Launceston, Tasmania, Autech develops a number of specialised product visualisers and electronic colour tools for the paint, building, manufacturing and retail industries. Autech’s technology allows customers to visualise their home before it is built and apply a range of paint colours and building products.
Products and services
Autech is a provider of colour visualisation, product visualisation and multimedia colour education services. Autech’s technology uses patented processes to overcome issues related to colour mismatch. Autech’s colour selection system allows customers to upload images of building projects and virtually decorate them online. Autech also designs a number of touch-screen kiosk based programs such as Colortrend-e, which it developed for Evonik.

*Autech is credited with developing the world’s first colour selection computer. The computer allowed users to see how a room would look if painted in a specified colour scheme.

*Autech collaborates with The Color Association of the United States to bring its customers a number of colour education programs.
*Autech has partnered with Kelly-Moore Paints to provide painters, builders and architects with access to multimedia and visualisation technology.
*Autech has formed a strategic alliance with Evonik-Degussa to use the Autech Technology Resource Centre (in Launceston) as the Asia-Pacific headquarters for the development of new electronic colour technologies.
Future Development
Autech is currently developing a touch-screen fashion visualiser which will allow shoppers to virtually mix and match outfits from a number of designers to create their own outfit. The user can apply various colours and textures to designs and is able to see how the outfit will look in real life.
