The Atlantic Metropolitan Hockey League is a youth ice hockey organization, based in Florham Park, New Jersey, that operates in the Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States. The AMHL operates the Atlantic Youth Hockey League and formerly the Atlantic Junior Hockey League and Metropolitan Junior Hockey League. Metropolitan Junior Hockey League The Metropolitan Junior Hockey League was an American Tier III junior ice hockey league. The MetJHL primarily produced talent for higher level junior hockey leagues or universities in the United States and Canada. In 2016, it was renamed North American 3 Atlantic Hockey League when operations were taken over by the North American Hockey League. In 2017, the remaining clubs joined the Eastern Hockey League's 19U division. Atlantic Youth Hockey League The Atlantic Youth Hockey League (AYHL) is an American youth hockey organization sanctioned by USA Hockey. It is composed of over 125 teams from the USA Hockey Atlantic, Southeast, New York and New England Districts. The organization has leagues from 10U to 18U level. At the end of the regular season, all eligible teams compete for the AYHL Championship at their respective level. When applicable as part of their AYHL regular season schedule, teams compete for the USA Hockey District Championships. The district standings include games played against the other teams in their district and then at the end of the season, the top teams compete for the District Championship. The District Champion of each competing level can move on to represent their district at the USA Hockey National Championship Tournament held at various locations throughout the United States.
