Ateneo De La Salle University

Ateneo De La Salle University(AdLSU) is a online social networking site wherein students from De La Salle University and Ateneo University can find old and new friends. Its main purpose is to unite the students from two rival schools, and make them brothers and sisters guided by the La Sallian and Atenean values. It was founded by the anonymous School President, and is governed by the site administrators who are also students from both schools. It currently has a population of 4000 students and is continually growing due to its online popularity.
Student life
AdLSU seeks to share the importance of unity for all of its members. The community strongly believes that unity is vital key for peace in every school throughout the nation, especially for ending the rivalry between the schools of Ateneo and La Salle. Their programs aim to empower students to be socially active as well as to promote a friendly and enjoyable environment for other members. The administration supports the idea of building friendships and strengthening camaraderie between individuals regardless of what their schools or social standing.
AdLSU has a variety of members who are students of schools nationwide. As means of social activities, AdLSU has held student meetings and parties in the past. The site also has a student chat lounge wherein members can freely communicate with each other publicly or privately. The community also holds contests, online events, and it is also home to a number of various online organizations. One of AdLSU's prominent features is the ability to respond to and create discussions and topics in the site's classroom subjects function.
The members are moderated by AdLSU’s administration which consists of administrators from different departments armed with a specific task. Each department has its own supervisor who is referred to as a Vice President. At the head of all departments is the executive office in which all departments are moderated by the School President. All admins follow specific rules and guidelines to assure that the community is in order.

University Library
Founded in October 9, 2008, AdLSU has since had its own online library which contains a collection of over around 380 articles, books, and magazines. It contains updated information in science, technology, business, and fashion. The library is updated daily and is primarily for online members who wish to avail for books with coverage over specific subjects such as programming in Visual Basic or AutoCAD. The material is free and all members can access the online material via the Community tab on AdLSU's main site or by visiting its own dedicated website.
Reception
As of June 14, 2009, Alexa ranks AdLSU as being #15,603 in the list of traffic rank in the Philippines and #439,625 in the rank of sites visited in France. Activity has also gone down by 30% within the past three months. Rate My Philippines, a website that lists and talks about websites based in the Philippines, featured AdLSU in one of their articles. It states AdLSU as being an interesting concept, albeit positive on their concept of peace and camaraderie.
