Association for the Research of Anatolian Folk Beliefs
The Association for the Research of Anatolian Folk Beliefs (AHAD, Anadolu Halk Ä°nançlarını AraÅŸtırma DerneÄŸi) is a Turkish voluntary association established in 2007. Its headquarters is in Dikmen, Ankara. Following the first general assembly in March 31, 2007, Ä°lhan Cem Erseven was elected as the first president of the association. The following people are also members of the first governing board: Mustafa Åžen, Nilüfer Nahya, Meral Salman, and Aykan Erdemir. AHAD's aims range from academic research and publishing to advocacy. The association particularly focuses on study and defense of non-Sunni religious groups in Turkey and the Middle East. AHAD is informally linked to the Kirkbudak: Journal of Anatolian Folk Beliefs.
