As We Were

As We Were was an independent film shot and edited in the early 1980's, and publicly released in 1994. The film, written, directed, and produced by musician D. Tredway, entails the story of a young boy named Johnny Wisconsin in search for escape from musical oppression and his abusive stepfather.

The boy (played by child actor Terry Robb) experiences hardships similar to those of Elvis Presley. The movie has inspirations rooted deeply in Aztec mythos.

As We Were was released to a small, private audience in a little-known theater in Cape Cod, dubbed The Us Shack, but was released almost 10 years later, in March 2003, as part of a program to bring obscure independent films back into circulation. There were approximately 1,650 VHS tapes of the film created and released.
