Aryanil Mukhopadhyay

Aryanil Mukhopadhyay (Mukherjee in English) (born 1964) is a Bengali language poet who also writes in English (mostly by means of transcreation). He grew up in Kolkata (erstwhile Calcutta). His earliest Bengali work dates back to the beginning of the 1990s. He was involved with some of the parallel literary movements that grew in the margins of mainstream Bengali literature. Aryanil is published widely in Bengali poetry circles. He has authored six books of poetry in two languages and 3 collections of essays and hybrid-prose. An engineering mathematician by profession, Aryanil lives in the United States since 1995. He is the second generation editor of the Kaurab print magazine and is also the founder editor of Kaurab Online, the first Indian language poetry webzine (1998).

In 2007 Aryanil received the Subhas Mukhopadhyay Smarak Samman ' from the Kabita Pakkhik (Poetry Fortnightly) magazine & press, Kolkata.
