Arun Nayar (born December 1964 in Foxhill Court, Burmantofts, Leeds) is chairman, CEO and co-founder of Direction Software Solutions. He is better known as the husband of British actress Elizabeth Hurley.
Personal life Arun Nayar was born to a Bombay based Malayalee father, Vinod Nayar, and German mother, Gunnar. The family moved to India shortly after the birth of his younger brother. His father's family owned large textile mills, and his mother, Gunnar set up a clothing export business in Bombay. Arun's parents separated while he was still young and he was brought up by his mother. He received his school education from the prestigious Cathedral and John Connon School, whose past alumni include Salman Rushdie, in Mumbai. He holds a degree in Physics from Oxford University and a Masters degree in Physics from Imperial College, London.
He speaks fluent English, Hindi, German and Punjabi.
He married Elizabeth Hurley in March 2007. The marriage ceremony was conducted twice. The first ceremony took place at Sudeley Castle in Gloucestershire on March 2, 2007 during which celebrated singer/songwriter, Elton John, walked the bride down the aisle. The second ceremony took place in Jodhpur, India.
Arun Nayar was previously married to Valentina Pedroni, a model from Milan. He divorced Pedroni in 2003 with a reported divorce settlement of £700,000.
