Artist Vs Poet

Artist Vs Poet (sometimes abbreviated AVP) is a five-piece pop-punk band from Dallas, Texas. The band is currently signed to Fearless Records. They released their epononymous debut EP on November 18, 2008.
History
Tarcy Thomason, lead vocalist of Artist Vs Poet, decided he needed to play music in the fall of 2007. He had previously been in Enter the Collector, a local band, for a two years. He posted a MySpace bulletin announcing that he'd wanted to start an acoustic project. Guitarist Craig Calloway was the very first to reply, and they formed Artist Vs Poet. Tarcy and Craig realized that the project should become a full-fledged band. Tarcy made a call to the drummer of his former band, Enter the Collector, Joe Westbrook. They completed the lineup with guitarist Joe Kirkland and bassist Jason Dean. Less than a year after formation, they caught the attention of Fearless Records, record label for famous groups such as Plain White T's, Mayday Parade, and The Maine. The released their debut EP with producer Mike Green, producer for Paramore, The Higher, and Danger Radio. They have toured with the likes of A Change of Pace, The Classic Crime, My American Heart, The Graduate, Danger Radio, Ultraviolet Sound, Valencia, Houston Calls, Sing it Loud, and The Morning Light.<ref name="fearless records" />
