Art into Acres

Art into Acres (also known as Art to Acres, Art for Acres or A2A) is a California-Based non-profit environmental and art initiative focusing on large-scale land conservation for climate, Indigenous peoples and biodiversity support. The initiative was founded in 2017. It has supported the conservation of 22 million acres of tropical and boreal forests.
Projects
Conservation projects funded by Art into Acres include the Bajo Paraguá Municipal Protected Area (2,429,061 acres) and the Bajo Paraguá-Concepción Municipal Conservation Area (381,452 acres) in Bolivia, as well as the Chuyapi Urusayhua Regional Conservation Area (198,156 acres) in Peru.

The initiative has supported conservation from the donations of artwork by artists: The Haas Brothers, Rashid Johnson, Cindy Sherman, Robert Longo, Jonas Wood, Jenny Holzer, and Jackson Pollock donated by Justus Striebich.
The initiative supports education on climate-warming emissions and reduction approaches using metric-based methods to calculate greenhouse gas emissions within the arts sector. They provide support to institutions and organizations in doing their initial carbon calculation. The initiative lists supporting the following artists and arts organizations with their first carbon calculations and conservation: Hauser & Wirth, ARTA, James Cohan Gallery, Marianne Boesky Gallery and Galleries Commit.
