Art in the Contemporary World

Art in the Contemporary World is an Irish publishing project that grew out of the similarly named MA programme at Dublin's National College of Art and Design, part of the National University of Ireland. It was founded in October 2008 and has been publishing continually since then. The project aims to be an online forum for examining contemporary art practice and its critical, theoretical, historical and social contexts. Contributions address issues arising out of recent developments in art theory and practice but there will also be frequent engagement with subjects from philosophy, literature, film studies, architecture, and other fields. Th key aim is to foster the development of new voices in Irish and international art criticism.
