Aromanians in Kosovo

The population of Pristina in 1909 was mixed, and the statistics are impossible to obtain because each source gave different figures. There were about 2,500 houses, of which about a quarter were Orthodox. Among them, many were Vlachs, and there were no Roman Catholics at all, most of the population being Muslim.
They had a bazaar. The silver workers there and elsewhere were all Christians. Among them, some were Vlachs, for example from Bitola (formerly called Monastir). The Vlachs were also present in other cities, such as Prizren.<ref name="highalbania" />
The Vlachs are considered by some to be the descendant of the Roman settlers and original inhabitants.<ref name="highalbania" />
