Ariana Afghan Airlines Flight 312

On May 8th 2014, an Ariana Afghan Airlines Boeing 737-400 operating Ariana Afghan Airlines Flight 312 ran off the end of runway 29 after landing at Hamid Karzai International Airport 2/3 the length down the runway. The aircraft was deemed irreparable and was written off due to all landing gear collapsing and both engines separating from the aircraft. 6 passengers were treated for injuries. The accident was the 18th loss.
Aircraft
The aircraft was a 21-year-old Boeing 737-400 with the registration TC-JET, which had two CFMI CFM56-3C1 engines. The aircraft's first flight was on the 20th of January 1993 where the aircraft was then delivered to Turkish Airlines 3 months later. On October 3rd 2006 it was involved in a hijacking of Turkish Airlines Flight 1476 where a man demanded to be taken to Rome. The aircraft was later leased to Anadolu Jet and then to Pamir Airways where the aircraft was re-registered to YA-PIB, and finally to Ariana Afghan Airlines where the aircraft met it's fate.
Flight
The Flight took off from Delhi at about 14:55 where the flight was due to land in Kabul at about 17:05. The controller cleared the flight to climb to 31,000 feet and maintain. The duration of the climb and cruise was thoroughly uneventful.
At about 17:02 the aircraft was on short final. The F/0 exclaimed that they were a little high, the captain then replied "I see.". Nevertheless, the crew continued with the landing. The controller informed them that wind was at 220 and at 5 knots and that they were cleared to land. At 17:04 the aircraft touched down 2,204 metres down the wet runway with an insufficient amount of runway left. The pilots only deployed the thrust reversers with 300 metres from the runway end. The plane could not be brought to a halt and the aircraft ran off the runway, continuing 200 metres on grass, collided with the runway's ILS antennas and came to rest at a perimeter road with the nose hanging over a grass embankment.
The aircraft came to rest with all landing gear collapsed and all engines separated from the main fuselage but there was no fire. An evacuation was executed and all 132 occupants survived with injuries to some 6 passengers. Initial reports suggested no passengers were injured and the aircraft sustained no damage but these were false.
Investigation
An investigation was immediately launched into the cause of the accident. It was discovered that the cause of the accident was Pilot error due to the pilot landing at about 2/3 down the runway and to not initiate a go around seeing an overrun was imminent.
