ArcticStartup

ArcticStartup was founded by Antti Vilpponen in 2007, and is currently run by Dmitri Sarle and Greg Anderson. It is a Northern European media company that reports on the development of growth companies in the region. Its offices are located in a converted hospital in Helsinki, Finland, among several startup companies.
In November 2012, Antti Vilpponen announced the closure of the company. However, Dmitri Sarle and Greg Anderson, were given ownership of the assets owned by ArcticStartup, and continued to run the ArcticStartup blog and its related events under a new company without the revenue earned from the old company. They were able to pay the wages in the first year, but without large profit margins. However, the company has had large growth since then, earning 264,000 Euro in 2015 compared to 87,000 Euro in 2013.
The ArcticStartup blog, which focuses on news about growth companies in the Nordic region, receives one-fifth of its traffic from the United States and half of its traffic from Finland and other Nordic countries.
